As the due date nears and excitement reaches its peak,
A sense of anticipation engulfs you to the adventure lying ahead,
Oh! the joy of meeting old friends, reliving the old memories,
Albeit with a new perspective, looking to create new memories.
Bali, with winding roads and ubiquitous temples and magnificent statues
Tell a story of a bygone era rich in culture and tradition, so faithfully followed to this day.
The Music, the enchanting dances tell a story so ingrained in our heart.
The bewitching stone craft adorned with historical motifs and exquisite wood work never cease to wonder.
The smiling, welcoming people ready with a chuckle, always polite and patient.
This is not the place for honking horns and impatient commuters, people waiting in traffic with the patience of a yogi.
This not just a trip for sightseeing alone but a chance to strengthen the bonds with old friends.
The camaraderie and respect and love for other shines through, people travelling long distances just to be together.
Men became boys and ladies became giggling girls letting their hair down without a care.
Wearing years lightly they hung on a parachute, jumped into the sea for a swim, going back in time.
Endless banters, heated discussions adding to the spice.
The food was great, so was the stay, as comfortable as it can be. Apart from familiar gourmet, we got a taste of Indonesian delight, so thoughtfully arranged.
Breakfast spread as diverse as it can be adding to the comfort.
The Gods of Bali welcomed us with showers quickly clearing into bright sunlight.
A trip to the Island in a speed boat was the pinnacle of the glorious trip. The breathtaking views of the cliffs, sea, sand and crashing waves creates an awe of the nature. The vast expanse of the sea, creates a humbling experience.
It’s time to say goodbye to the people, to the fellow travelers figuratively in our life too.
Partings are always tough but softened with a promise to meet again. With happy memories and a sense of fulfillment, we depart bidding adieu to dear friends.
These are friends for life, sharing a bond, memories, you can be yourself, they know you from Adam.
About the organisers, what can one say, so thoughtful, so approachable with a genuine concern for people. Thanks in words are not enough but still a must.
Back to base with charged up batteries and already eagerly looking to the next trip.
If the trip is to be summed up in one word, it’s ADIPOLI.
